Endoscopic Banding

Endoscopic band ligation is a newly developed technique that has been proved to be an effective treatment of bleeding esophageal varices. Meanwhile, this technique also has been shown to be a successful method of controlling non-variceal upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Moreover, there are scattered reports about endoscopic band ligation for treatment of post-polypectomy hemorrhage. In this report, we describe the successful application of colonoscopic band ligation to control severe post-polypectomy colonic bleeding not responding to standard techniques.
